Faisal Awartani (Ph.D.)
Dr. Faisal Awartani is a senior expert in socio-economic research and monitoring and evaluation, with more than two decades of experience and oversight of over 300 studies in policy reform, education, health, governance, and performance assessment across Palestine, Jordan, and Lebanon. He has collaborated extensively with leading international organizations, including USAID, UNDP, the World Bank, Chemonics, and FHI 360, supporting large-scale public sector reform and the development of institutional M&E systems, particularly within Palestinian ministries. Dr. Awartani is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and holds a PhD in Statistics and an MSc in Computer Science from American University in Washington, DC, as well as a BA in Mathematics from Birzeit University.

General Manager
Hamzah L. Karajah
Hamzah Karajah serves as General Manager at Insights, overseeing strategic direction, research quality, and operational delivery across the organization. He brings extensive experience in socio-economic research, monitoring and evaluation, and applied policy analysis, with a proven track record managing complex qualitative and quantitative studies from design through reporting. Hamzah has led and contributed to high-impact research across education, health, governance, and economic development, working closely with international donors, public institutions, and private sector partners. He holds a BA in Global Business and Economic Development from The Ohio State University and combines technical research expertise with strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Lulu Alashqar
With experience spanning qualitative and mixed-methods research, business development and project management, and trauma-informed psychosocial practice, Lulu’s work focuses on sociopolitical, institutional, and cultural dynamics in Palestine. She translates complex research findings and field-based insights into policy-relevant and programmatically actionable outputs. At Insights, she supports the design and coordination of research frameworks, analytical tools, and data collection processes, while also contributing to proposal development, partnership building, and business development strategy. Alongside her research role, she brings a strong background in psychosocial and community-based work, applying trauma-informed and ethically grounded approaches across research, programming, and stakeholder engagement.

Bryanna Millis
A strategic leader and interdisciplinary artist with over 20 years of experience working at the intersection of cultural production, research, and systems change. Brings a career that bridges mission-driven programming across the MENA region with collaborative artistic practice that elevates underrepresented voices and engages the public imagination. Has founded and led organizations, managed remote international teams, and designed initiatives advancing inclusive economic opportunity and environmental awareness. Their work has been presented across global platforms, including policy forums, academic institutions, cultural centers, and art exhibitions, grounded in a strong commitment to storytelling as a tool for dialogue, reflection, and structural change. Combines strategic foresight with creative sensibility, contributing to institutions that are both operationally robust and culturally meaningful. Known for a collaborative leadership style, clarity of vision, and deep respect for artistic integrity in both programmatic and creative work.

Dr. Samer Sweileh
Dr. Samer Sweileh specializes in training and empowering researchers, academics, and professionals to effectively use artificial intelligence tools across diverse fields, with a particular focus on scientific research and data-driven decision-making. His work centers on integrating AI-assisted solutions into academic and applied environments, supporting researchers in literature analysis, data processing, model development, and research productivity enhancement. He has contributed to advancing AI adoption in education and research through workshops, training programs, and applied data science projects. His interests include applied machine learning, research analytics, interpretable AI, and enabling organizations and academic institutions to leverage intelligent tools for innovation and knowledge development.

Senior R&D Consultant, Advisor
Elizabeth Price
Elizabeth Price has 25 years of experience in strategic management of development and humanitarian assistance in fragile states and complex contexts. She has worked with international agencies and governments on designing, implementing, and assessing programming. Ms. Price successfully manages culturally diverse teams, with experience in strategic planning, civic engagement, and governance and reform, among other sectors. She is known for her analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ms. Price is bilingual in English and Arabic and proficient in French. At the educational level, Elizabeth earned her BA in Social Anthropology from Harvard University (Magna Cum Laude) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychology from the University of London.

AI & Data Science Specialist, Advisor
Dr. Huthaifa I. Ashqar
AI and data science expert specializing in the application of advanced computational methods to social, urban, and institutional challenges. His work spans artificial intelligence, urban analytics, and organizational systems, with a focus on translating complex data into policy-relevant and operational insights. Dr. Ashqar has led large-scale, donor-funded and applied research projects in smart infrastructure, mobility, and social development, and has supported organizations in integrating AI into decision-making, automation, and analytics, particularly in fragile and conflict-affected contexts

Research and International Relations, Advisor
Dr. Lana Shehadeh
Dr. Lana Shehadeh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Science at the Arab American University of Palestine (AAUP). She teaches graduate courses in Research Methods, Self and Identity in Literature, Readings in Western Cultures, Cultures Definitions and Issues among others. Prior to joining AAUP, she was an Instructor of International Relations at Florida International University (FIU). Dr. Shehadeh’s research concentrates on the intersection of religion and politics and the importance of gender studies under colonial rule. Her research has been published in Politics & Religion, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Contemporary Arab Affairs, and Arab Studies Quarterly.

Public Health Advisor
Dr. Nahed Mikki
Board-certified pediatrician and public health specialist with over 25 years of experience in clinical practice, epidemiological research, and academic teaching. With a Medical Degree from the University of Jordan & a PhD degree in Public Health & Epidemiology from the University of Oslo, Dr. Nahed has led population-based health studies across Palestine in collaboration with experts from the MENA region & Europe. She has been board certified in Pediatrics since 1999 and brings deep expertise in women’s and adolescent health, nutrition, chronic diseases, ophthalmology, and health systems strengthening.

Qualitative Data Specialist
Dr. Bassam Izzat
Dr. Bassam Izzat, serves as a Qualitative Data Specialist at Insights for Training and Research. Dr. Izzat oversees various steps of the research process, such as ensuring that the questionnaire design or focus group guidelines are in sync with the project objective in coordination with subject matter experts. Dr. Izzat coordinates data collection for both quantitative and qualitative research. Dr. Izzat oversees the recruiting and training of field researchers responsible for data collection for qualitative and quantitative research projects. Dr. Izzat works closely with the IT support team at Insights to monitor the quality of collected data. At the education level, Dr. Izzat earned his MA and his Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Tunis. Throughout his career, Dr. Izzat supervised several research projects, primarily qualitative ones. He moderated many focus groups and produced the corresponding reports.

Admin and Finance manager
Hiyam AL Natour
Hiyam Al Natour is a Civil Engineering graduate who has successfully transitioned into a leadership role in administration and finance. Currently serving as the Admin and Finance Manager at Insights for Research, Polling and Training. Hiyam has extensive experience in managing the financial and administrative aspects of research projects across different sectors. Hiyam has extensive experience in managing expenses of field researchers and research coordinators working across the 16 districts in the West Bank and Gaza. Her engineering background provides a solid foundation for analytical decision-making, while her leadership in finance and administration reflects a strong adaptability and commitment to organizational success.

Communications Advisor
Dina Abdelrahman
Dina has a wide research experience varying from academic research in Kings College London to monitoring and evaluating the research of development projects in the West Bank. Dina also has a wide experience in Communications mainly in UAE, supporting the fields of health and sustainability. Dina supports Insights in communicating the results of the various research projects with the public using different media channels. Dina, before assuming the role of communication manager worked with insights as a research assistant where she worked on both qualitative and quantitative projects. She helped in designing questionnaires, recruiting participants for focus groups, and participating in reporting the results of both qualitative and quantitative research projects.

Education Advisor
Dr. Mohammad Matar
Mohammad Matar serves as Education Advisor at Insights for Research, Polling & Training, providing strategic guidance on education research, evaluation, and policy-focused studies. He is a Professor of Educational Evaluation and heads the National Center for Educational Research and Development at the Palestinian Ministry of Education. Dr. Matar has led and coordinated major national and international assessments, including TIMSS and EGRA, and brings extensive regional experience supporting education systems and evidence-based policy reform across the MENA region.

Economic Advisor
Dr. Tareq Sadeq
Assistant Professor of Economics at Birzeit University and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics. His work focuses on labor economics, inequality, and macroeconomic modeling, with extensive consultancy experience supporting international organizations on policy-oriented economic analysis.

Geospatial Analysis Specialist - Advisor
Jamal Numan
Jamal is a GIS expert with an MSc in GIS from the University of Leeds and a BSc in Civil Engineering from Birzeit University. He is ESRI-certified and the initiator of the Geomolg Geoportal, developed to improve national access to geospatial data in Palestine. Jamal has contributed to major national and UN-linked geospatial initiatives, published in leading GIS platforms, received international GIS excellence awards, and teaches GIS as a part-time lecturer at Birzeit University.
